Professional Sound Projects (PSP, as most of us know them) just introduced the FETpressor: a FET feedback type compressor plug-in compatible with all major DAWs. PSP’s FETpressor is designed to provide accurate, almost instant compression with lots of character.

PSP states that the plug-in is “Great for vocals, guitars, bass, drums, and whenever a classic 1970s-style FET compressor is needed.” FETpressor contains everything you’d expect from a FET compressor: an internal side chain high-pass filter to control the amount of low-frequency pumping, a smooth, adjustable compression ratio, the ability to select which channel to process, and a link switch. This compressor also contains a dry signal blend for parallel compression directly accessible within the plug-in. Additionally, the PSP FETpressor contains makeup amplifier and output transformer emulations to add subtle character even when set to 1:1 ratio.

With a sleek, no-nonsense design – PSP has certainly hit a sweet spot with the FETpressor. Until we get the chance to run it through a full session, check out the launch video released by PSP below:
